Imani is Jamaican Canadian and has been a Registered Social Worker for over 25 years, with clinical counseling/therapy & mental health experience. Her social work career has primarily focused on working with the marginalized, venerable and Racialized communities. She has worked all her career in clinical, medical & educational institutional settings, which has informed her own professional "survival skills, navigating micro-exclusionary barriers". She has her Masters In Social Work, and is committed to her own personal ongoing learning. As a result, she has certificates in Diversity Equity & Inclusion trainings. She has been part of writing teams for anti-black racism curriculum and is an ABR trainer.

She is passionate about equitable inclusion, especially in workspaces and her practice is inclusive of intersecting identities & diversity, from an equity, anti-oppression, anti-racism frameworks.
Imani has a special interest in fostering deeper understanding of the impact of oppression & racism on historically disadvantaged and marginalized groups, and facilitating healing pathways, especially for the Black & Racialized communities She is a strong civil & social justice advocate and believes in engaging safe spaces for ongoing personal reflective work for others, inspiring allyship, harm reduction, harm repair and healing
